Terminologies Explanation
SCSI Controller
SCSI refers to Small Computer System Interface, which is an expansion interface
designed for small computers. SCSI can also make computers retrofit some
peripherals to improve system performance or add new functions, such as hard
disk, CD-ROM drive and scanner.
Server Network Card
Network card is also referred to as network adapter or network interface card (NIC).
It’s generally used for connection between server and network devices, such as
switch. Server network card features numerous network cards, fast data
transmission, low CPU occupancy rate and high safety performance
Expansion Slot Number
of Mainboard
Mainboard expansion slots refers to slots supported by mainboard of workstation,
such as PCI expansion slot, AGP expansion slot. The capacity of workstation after
upgrade increases with the number of expansion slots. The mainboard generally
has over 5 expansion slots.
Network Operating
System
Network Operating System (NOS) is an operating system used to provide network
computers with network communication and network resource sharing functions.
NOS is the software package used for managing the whole network resources and
facilitating network users. NOS is referred to as server operating system because it
runs on the server. There are mainly three types of NOS in LAN, that is, Windows
System, Unix System and Linux System.
Server Power
Server power is POW
ER used on server. It’s a switch power like PC (Personal
Computer).
According to the relevant standards, server power are classified into ATX power
and SSI power.
ATX standard is fairly common, mainly used for desktop computer, workstation and
low-end server; SSI standard is derived with server technology development and is
applicable for all levels of servers.

I2O is the abbreviation of Intelligent Input & output. It’s standard interface used for
intelligent I/O system.

RAID is the abbreviation of Redundant Array of Independent Disks, which is called
Disk Array for short.
