TheVDI6022isanOccupationalHealth&SafetyDirectivethatapplies"toallventilationandaircondi-
tioning systems and equipment supplying air to areas that, according to their intended purpose, will have
people in them for more than 30 days per year or regularly for longer than two hours per day."

It requires that equipment does not

adversely affect health
●
disturb people's well-being
●
disturb people's thermal comfort
●
produce annoying noise
●
lead to the growth of microorganisms
●
cause harm through toxic materials or inorganic or organic impurities.
It also stipulates that
●
only materials that do not promote microbial proliferation are used
●
only materials with lasting resistance to corrosion are used
●
all components are easily accessible
●
water-bearing areas can be inspected, tested and cleaned at all times
●
thesuppliedwatersatisfiesthemicrobiologicalrequirementsoftheDrinkingWaterRegulations
●
there is no possibility that supplied water can be fed back into the drinking water mains
●
an increase in CFUs above the limits of the Directive is prevented by suitable design,
regular cleaning and/or suitable disinfection systems
●
the bath and pipes can be fully drained during downtimes or periods in excess of 48 hours when no
humidificationisrequired

complete system.
