15. Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting table
Situation
Cause
Solution
Explanation
No mist
production
A1
Unit is not in
operation
Start up the unit; check function of control
system
If the upstream control system is not functioning,
neither can the unit function.
A2
No supply voltage Check electrical supply, ensure power is
supplied to the unit
If the electrical supply between the ultrasonic
humidifierandthecontrolsystemisinterrupted,the
unit will not function.
A3
Not enabled
Enablingbycontrolsystem,orflushfunc-
tion active, setpoint was reached; check
control system parameters and reset if
necessary
If the control system does not enable the unit or
the unit is in "Flush mode", no mist is produced.
The fan stops.
A4
No supply of
demineralized
drinking water
Checkdrinkingwatersupply(alltapsopen,
on-sitefiltersclogged,etc.),ensureasup-
plyofwater,checkfillvalve
ThelowwaterfloatswitchFS2wastriggeredbya
low water level, and has stopped the unit.
A5
Water level too
low
Check drinking water supply and upstream
water treatment system, ensure a supply,
checkfillvalve,checkdrain
Ifthefillvalvedoesnotopenorthedrainiscontin-
uouslyopen,asufficientlyhighwaterlevelcanno
longerbereached,thelowwaterfloatswitchFS2
stops the unit.
A6
Safety chain
triggered
CheckfloatswitchesFS1andFS2,check
voltage 1,2 and X1,X2
Ifafloatswitchdoesnotswitchcorrectlyorthe
thermostat has switched, the unit stops the trans-
ducers and the fan
A7
Fan not
functioning
Check voltage X1, X2, check valve
mechanism
If the fan does not rotate despite the power being
on or is sluggish, it is faulty
A8
Water does not
drain freely
Check water drain and repair if necessary
ThewatersupplyfloatswitchFS1wastriggeredby
a high water level, and has stopped the unit. Water
mayescapefromtheoverflow.
A9
Faulty nebulizer
unit
Check electrical supply H1,G1
If the transducers do not function despite the pow-
er being on, they are faulty.
Low mist
production
B1
Supply voltage
too low
Check transformer
Ifthetransformerdoesnotgenerate48VAC(+/-
10%),thesupplyvoltageistoolowfornormal
operation.
B2
Unit is incorrectly
installed
Check that the unit is installed as described
in section "5.1.Humidifierdistance"on
If the unit is not horizontal, or if the mist cannot be
correctly distributed in the room due to incorrect
mounting, this will affect mist production.
B3
Worn atomizers
Check operating hours, visually inspect
transducers
The capacity of the transducers declines if they are
dirty or have reached the end of their life.
B4
Request by con-
trol system
Check setpoints and actual values
If the setpoint given by the control system is
approximately reached, depending on the control
system the transducers may only be requested to
actbriefly.
B5
Inadequate
airflow
Checkinstallation,fanandairfilter
Iftheairflowvolumeistoolowduetoafaultyfan,
acloggedfilteroranincorrectlyinstalledunit,this
directly affects mist production.
B6
Intake pressure
of demineralized
drinking water
too low
Check drinking water supply and upstream
water treatment system and ensure a sup-
ply if necessary; optimize supply channels
Iftheintakepressureattheultrasonichumidifieris
insufficient,thefillvalvecannotbeguaranteedto
open reliably.
Water escapes
from the
overflow.
C1
"Upper water
level"floatswitch
is not triggered
Checkcorrectseatingandfunctionoffloat
switch
ThewatersupplyfloatswitchFS1shouldclose
the supply valve when the maximum water level is
reached.
C2
Supply valve does
not close
Check function of supply valve
Ifthevalveisopen(e.g.clogging,mechanical
fault),waterisfedcontinuallytotheultrasonic
humidifier.
C3
Drain is
obstructed
Check drain and drainage valve
Ifthedrainisblocked,theflushvalveisclosedor
the unit is not correctly installed, water may escape
fromtheoverflow.
