Fuselage
(continued)
24.
With the moist side out, fit the notch at the
front
of F18 to the tab at the
bottom
of F16. Lay
the
rear
edge on the
bottom
of former F3. Wrap F18 around formers F3 and F16, and hold
in place with low-tack masking tape until dry.
25.
While F18 is drying, locate the upper nose sheeting F19 (sheet 03/08, 1/20 balsa). Moisten
one side of F19 with glass cleaner, and allow it to soak for a minute or two.
26.
Fit the notch at the
front
of F19 to the tab at the
top
of F16, and to the tab at the
top
of F3.
Wrap F19 around formers F3 and F16, and hold in place with low-tack masking tape until
dry.
27.
While F18 and F19 are drying, locate the wing/fuselage top sheeting F20
(taped to the
wood brick). Fit the notches near the
rear
of F20 to the tabs along the
top
edge of the
fuselage sides, immediately in
front
of F12. Bond the
rear
edge of F20 to F12 with CA.
Wrap F20 over the
top
of the fuselage. Fit the notches in F20 (along the edges) to the tabs
in the fuselage sides. Bond F20 to the fuselage sides with CA.
28.
Back to the nose sheeting. When the
bottom
sheeting F18 is
completely dry
, remove the
tape, and bond F18 to F3, F16, and the fuselage sides with CA.
29.
When F19 is
completely dry
, remove the tape and F19 from the fuselage. Turn F19
upside down. Using a sanding stick or sanding block, carefully sand a 45-degree bevel
along the
bottom
of the
left
and
right
sides of F19. This will provide a better fit between
F19 and the fuselage sides.
