CONCLUSION:
the reference structure is broken. The probable cause of the structure violation
is a defect in pair 1-2 (parallel connection or breakage of both wires of the pair at a distance of
≈20 meters from the beginning of the cable).
Parallel connection to "non-linked" pair in a cable from twisted pair cables
Cable without defects
Cable with defect
1. The response levels in "twisted" pairs are not the same (in pairs 1-2 this level is slightly higher
than in the other three "linked" pairs).
2. Distances to heterogeneities with maximum response levels in "non-linked" pairs are not the
same. In all "non-linked" pairs with wires #2 and #8, the distance to the heterogeneity is less
than the distance to the end of the cable in the remaining "non-linked" pairs.
3. The response levels in wires of the different "non-linked" pairs are different. So in a pair of 2-8,
the response level is maximum (exceeds the response levels in "linked" pairs). The response
levels in all "non-linked" pairs with wires #2 and #8 are higher than in other "non-linked" pairs.
CONCLUSION:
the reference structure is broken. The probable cause of the structure violation
is a defect in a pair of 2-8 (parallel connection at a distance of ≈ 21 meters from the beginning of
the cable).
