5. Press "FUNC", set cable type. In this case - an unshielded, "non twisted" type cable. Contacts
##3, 4, 5, 6 are involved (the 4-wire cable with connector 6P4C,
).
6. Press again "FUNC" and enter to NLJD main menu. The screen shown in Fig.54.

The pairs of wires to be tested are highlighted in white. Gray (in italics) are pairs of
unconnected wires that will not be tested.
7. Set the probing signal level. For the short cables testing, it is recommended to set the level of
20-40%.
8. Press "F4". The Analyzer will alternately connect and test all pairs of telephone cable wires.
Upon completion of testing, the levels of the received signals at the second (red color) and third
(blue color) harmonics will be display in the corresponding columns of the table. If there are no
connected electronic devices on the cable, the measurement results will be display on the screen
shown in Fig. 55. The levels of reflected signals are negligible and the same.

9. Test with short-circuited far end of cable. To do this, use a cable special RJ45 socket
(item 17,
Fig.1)

After the far end is shorted, press "F4" (start the test cycle).
If electronic devices are not connected to the cable, the results of measurements displayed on
the Analyzer screen will correspond to Fig.56.
