BASIC OPERATIONS
60
After analyzing all the detected signals, it is necessary to check the changes in the difference
spectrogram when connecting electricity consumers.
To do this, first you need to get the difference spectrogram of the energized
powered mains,
and then connect all the devices in turn.
Thus, it is possible to determine which of the consumers is the source of the
"dangerous" signal.
19. Exit AUTOMATED mode ("ESC"). The difference spectrogram of the energized power mains to
which the equipment is not connected will be displayed on the screen.
20. Exit the DIFFERENTIAL mode ("F3"). The current spectrogram of the energized mains to
which the equipment is not connected will be displayed on the screen.
21. Turn on the DIFFERENTIAL mode again ("F3") The difference spectrogram of the energized
mains is displayed on the screen. The levels of all previously detected signals will be taken as "0".
22. Connect one of the devices consuming electricity to the power mains under test. The
difference spectrogram (taking into account the connection of this device) will be displayed on the
screen. If new signals are detected in the PANORAMA mode, turn on the AUTOMATED mode
("F2") and analyze each of them in the table of detected signals (as described earlier).
After all signals have been analyzed, exit AUTOMATED mode ("ESC") and turn off
DIFFERENTIAL mode ("F3"). Turn on the DIFFERENTIAL mode ("F3") again and get a new
difference spectrogram.
After that, connect the next device and analyze new signals according to the described
algorithm.
Testing is completed, after testing the power mains with all connected devices
consuming electricity.
Devices whose connection led to the appearance of "dangerous" signals on the differential
spectrogram must be disassembled and checked for the presence of extraneous components in
them.
7.2.2. IMPLEMENTATION OF BASIC OPERATION #2
ANALOG TELEPHONE LINE TESTING
Unlike power mains (two-wire cables), low-current cables, as a rule, are multi-wire cables. For
test such cables, the operator sequentially connects all possible combinations of wires to the
Analyzer.
Initial status
The cable under test connected to PBX. The telephone set connected to the line via the socket.
The handset is "hung up". The telephone line powered from PBX and operates normally.
The high-frequency transmitter can be connected to the telephone line laid indoors or is
installed in the telephone set.
Algorithm of test of an analog telephone line
1. Connect ST 301 to the tested cable.
2. Turn on PTS and set the volume of a control sound.
3. Connect headphones to the main unit ("PHONE").
4. Turn on the Analyzer and turn on WR.
