10. PROPER USE
Primary medical evaluations must be carried out before the patient is moved, lifted or transported. Once the diagnosis has been made, it is preferable to advise the patient
to actively contribute to the transition from bed to stretcher/chair, while at the same time informing them of the risks they may be running. Before loading the patient,
bring the device as close as possible to the patient.
Opening and closing widthwise stretchers 110, 122 and 128
Opening and closing lengthwise (100, 122, 128, 200, 205 and 310)
Opening
Open the stretcher by spreading the handles as far
apart as possible.
Press the joint in the direction of the handles until
it locks.
Perform the same operation on the opposite side
of the stretcher.
Caution: Danger of pinching, only press on the
rigid parts, keeping your fingers away from the
joints.
Closing
Pull the joint in the opposite direction to the
handles until it is released.
Perform the same operation on the opposite
side of the stretcher.
Bring the handles closer together
To fold the stretcher, simply bring the ends of the frame together
as shown in the image.
On model 128, the two halves of the stretcher can be folded into
two more parts, further reducing the bulk.
To unfold the stretcher, perform the reverse unfolding operation.
Opening and closing stretchers 250
The safety sleeves must be unlocked in order to fold stretchers 250.
Rotate the sleeve to release the locking pin from its seat. Once unlocked, slide the sleeve
along the frame until the joints are fully exposed. Perform the same operation on the
other side of the stretcher.
The stretcher can now be folded as illustrated above for the other models.
Perform the above steps in reverse order to open the stretcher. When locking the slee-
ve, make sure that the locking pin engages properly when you turn the sleeve.
Do not lift the patient without making sure that the safety mechanism is properly en-
gaged.
Folding feet model 205
Model 205 is equipped with folding feet.
To fold, press the unlocking buttons located at the base of the
brackets. After unlocking the brackets, rotate them inwards 90°
until they are in the closed position.
The stretcher can now be folded as illustrated above for the
other models.
Perform the above procedures in reverse order to open the
stretcher.
Using the adjustable backrest (281, 310)
To tilt the backrest, lift it to approximately the desired position. Then find the nea-
rest point of engagement on the rack, which will hold the backrest in position.
Before releasing the grip on the backrest, ensure that both pins of the backrest sup-
port frame are correctly engaged in the rack.
To return the backrest to the horizontal position, lift the backrest slightly to pull the
pins out of the rack and, while keeping the backrest support frame slightly raised,
guide the backrest back to the horizontal position.
Stacking Stock stretchers (270, 281)
Stock series stretchers can be stacked in order to optimise storage space.
To stack the stretchers, simply set them in the same direction and stack them one on top of the other.
Do not stack more than 10 stretchers, as stacking more than that will reduce stability due to the height and may cause the stack to tip over, posing a risk to those nearby.
Using telescopic handles (Ella and Prime series)
Telescopic handles make lifting easier and less tiring. To open them, press the
buttons near the handles, then pull the handles outwards. To return them to their
original position, press the buttons and push the handles inwards until they lock.
Telescopic handles without an unlocking button are released by pressing down on
the knob. After applying this pressure, pull the handles outwards.
To return them to their original position, push them inwards until they lock.
