 :  Compressed Gas Sampling Operation

MiniCapt® Mobile Operations Manual

Regulator

A 0.3 – 20 bar (4.35 psi – 290 psi) 316L stainless steel regulator is used to reduce the high 
pressure gas source and set pressure which can be used in conjunction with the critical 
orifice to produce a fixed flowrate through the system. A 316L 1/4-inch NPT stainless 
steel adaptor fitting is used on the inlet to accept a 6 mm plastic tube from the gas 
source, and a 316 stainless steel 1/4-inch NPT union is used on the regulator outlet to 
connect to the solenoid valve.

Solenoid Valve

The solenoid is a 2/2 way direct acting, normally closed unit. The valve is made from 
316L stainless steel. The solenoid coil and wiring are removable to allow for 
autoclaving of the valve. To ensure proper functioning of the solenoid, it must be 
installed downstream of the regulator.
