Cable Connectors
Occasionally a cable connector may be damaged through an accident. If a connector is
damaged, be careful not to aggravate the problem by forcing a cable into a damaged
connector. A Particle Measuring Systems Service Representative can repair or replace
damaged connectors.
Performance Checks
Complete the following procedures to verify that your instrument is operating
properly.
Air Flowrate Check
The sample flowrate can be adjusted and calibrated by a Particle Measuring Systems
authorized service center. Adjustments performed by an unauthorized service center
may result in flowrate and microbial collection inaccuracy, as well as hardware
damages.
To perform a flowrate verification, a flow meter with suitable range for the instrument
type (25, 50, or 100 LPM) and the appropriate adapter is required (contact Particle
Measuring Systems for further information).
>> To check the air flowrate:
1.
Disconnect all sample tubing and sample probes.
2.
Connect the unrestricted test flow meter to the sample inlet fitting.
3.
Run a sample and monitor the flow meter readings.
The measured flow should be the following:
•
25 LPM + 5%
•
50 LPM + 5%
•
100 LPM + 5%
A flowrate error greater than ±5% results in sample warnings.
A flowrate error greater than ±20% results in an alarm.
Low flow could be due to a blockage.
