Windows 3.x / DOS 6.22
The Windows 3.x drivers are provided on the HOT-255 Installation CD.
The DEFAULT.ECW file copied during the installation is a two-megabyte
waveset. There is no support for MS-DOS Prompt inside Windows 3.x.
Installing/Updating the ENSONIQ AudioPCI™ Drivers
To install or update the software for the HOT-255 card in Windows 3.x /
DOS 6.22 follow this procedure:
1.
Logon to Windows 3x and establish any network connections.
2.
Open the Program Manager. In the
File
menu, choose
Run…
3.
At this point insert the HOT-255 Installation CD.
4.
In the
Command Line
of the Run window type or
Browse…
to the
path of the Windows 3.x Install Wizard followed by INST255.EXE.
( i.e., D:\INST255.EXE )
5.
The “Spacewalker Install Launcher” will appear, click “Install” but-
ton, the Install dialog will appear and then click “Install Driver for
Windows 3.x / DOS” button. ( In the mean time, the Install program
will detect the existence of HOT-255, if HOT-255 doesn’t exist, an
error message will display ).
6.
The Welcome dialog will appear. Click
Next
.
7.
Select “Remove and Install Components” and click
Next
.
8.
Use
Browse
… to enter or select the MS-DOS Mode utilities’ desti-
nation folder if you don’t wish to use the default C:\EAPCI folder.
9.
Click
Next
to install the AudioPCI™ Windows 3.x drivers.
10.
Choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now.” and click
Finish
to complete the installation.
Note: When the installation has completed INITAP.BAT will be added to
the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. INITAP.BAT must be loaded in order for MS-
DOS Mode applications to function.
