O P E R A T I O N
Operation Overview
To complete a typical operation, the operator
does the following:
1. Examines the workpiece to make sure it
is suitable for sanding. No extreme bows,
knots, or cracks should exist.
2. Prepares and trims workpiece as necessary.
3. Inspects and installs sanding belt with
appropriate grit for operation.
4. Adjusts platen tilt as desired, then adjusts
table to allow maximum

" clearance
between table and sandpaper.
5. Ties back loose hair and clothing, and puts
on safety glasses and respirator. Takes all
other required safety precautions.
6. Starts sander and dust collector system.
7. While holding workpiece with both hands,
holds workpiece firmly and flatly against
miter gauge, backstop, table, or fence, and
gradually eases workpiece into sanding belt.
8. Stops machine.
