Checking the mode
To check the setting status during the >RUNNING prompt status, input as
follows:

Recovery and Eject Operation
If the tape in the tape streamer requires recovery because of some trouble
such as power failure during loading, you can recover or eject the tape on
the display panel of the DMS-B9.

Press the SELECT key on the display panel of the DMS-B9 until
>MAINT MENU appears.

Press the SET key.
The display shows the maintenance menu, and >Mt:EXIT appears.

Press the UP or DOWN key to select either of the following items.
>Mt:DrvRcver: Recovery request
>Mt:Eject: Eject request

Press the SET key.
OK appears when the command is transmitted.

Press the UP or DOWN key until >Mt:EXIT appears.

Press the SET key.
Notes
•
This function is for the emergency action when a trouble occurs. Do not
use it in the normal operation.
•
If you do not understand the recovery and eject function of the tape
streamer, do not use this function.
•
When the maintenance menu appears to activate with this function, the
DMS-B9 stops normal operation. It returns Not Ready to the request via
the SCSI.
•
If the tape streamer is executing another command or stops by detecting a
fatal error, communication error may appear.
•
If the elevator is not placed at the lowest position, the cassette is not
ejected immediately. When you open the door, the cassette is ejected
from the tape streamer.
