4.9.5 MANUAL MODE
Manual mode allows barfeeder motions by means of the navigation keys. This mode is also
used for the move to a reference and for the calibration of the material switch (SS2400S).
4.9.5.1 MOVE TO A REFERENCE
Always after the barfeeder switching on, first it is necessary to go to a reference point. The
barfeeder indicates by flashing display that it does not know a reference point.
How to go to a reference point
•
First make sure that the barfeeder loading mechanism (pusher) is in the lower limit
position. Otherwise shift the flag by hand into the back limit position, and, in the manual
mode put the pusher into the lower limit position.
•
In the manual mode select and press the key initiating the move to the reference
point.
•
After successful search, the keys and goes off, the display stops flashing, and
the flag stops in the back limit position.
•
If after the move to the reference point the keys and start flashing, it means that
the go to the reference failed. Most probable
there is an obstacle (e.g. dirt) on the flag
travel, which prevents the barfeeder from
moving the flag to the back limit position, thus
disabling correct reading of the reference
point.
•
Cancel the move to reference by the key .
•
Remove the obstacle and repeat the move to
the reference point.
•
If the problem persists, proceed according to Chapter 5.2 error no. 2.
4.9.5.2 STANDARD MOTIONS OF THE BARFEEDER
In the manual mode it is possible to move with the flag and the loading mechanism using the
navigation keys
. Horizontal motion of the flag is only enabled when the loading
mechanism is in the lower or upper limit position. The loading mechanism can only be moved
if the flag is in the back limit position. The barfeeder moves as long as the relevant navigation
key is pressed and the moving part is not in its limit position.
Note: In the manual mode in the forward motion of the flag (toward the lathe) the barfeeder
exerts only a limited force. This force corresponds to the value of the parameter#300. Consequently, if
a bar to be fed is inserted into the barfeeder, it is possible in the manual mode to check the feeding
force value which is set in the parameter #300.
