Service Testing

Note

: Before starting, separate the cases and fit a dummy rear case.

Connect a link from TP2, behind the lefthand square window,

to +9 V and another link from TP1, behind the righthand

square window to 0 V.

The cam switch makes six transitions (ON > OFF or OFF > ON) every

revolution. Each transition causes the motor current to be cut off.

Pulses 1, 3, and 5 will be terminated by the microswitch MAKING,

and pulses 2, 4, and 6 will be terminated by the microswitch

BREAKING the circuit. The motor must be restarted with a fresh

command to continue, making the system inherently safe in

operation.

Pulses 1, 3, and 5 are likely to be very similar to each other (as are

pulses 2, 4, and 6). If wear or damage has occurred, the duration of

the odd pulses may significantly differ from the duration of the even

pulses. Alternate motor pulses are permitted to be of slightly

different lengths but should not differ by more than 20%.
