Measure and mark the center of the horizonal stab on the
trailing edge.
Align the centerline on F21 to the mark you made in the h
stab and glue F21 in place even with the trailing edge of the
stab.
Align the 3/8" x 3/4” tail block so the groove is centered with
the centerline on F21 as shown.
Mark a line around the block and cut away the sheeting on
the horizonal stab. Be sure to only cut the bottom sheeting.
Measure the thickness of your tailwheel control arm. Subtract
that number from 1.3 inches and that will tell you how long to
make the tailgear anchor block. In my build,
the steering arm is .3 inches so I will cut my block to about 1
inch.
Test fit the block in the hole behind F21. Rest the steering
arm on the block and insure it doesn't stick up past the notch
in F21. Once everything fits correctly, use 5 min epoxy to
glue the block into place.
HINT: 3/32” steering arms are difficult to find so if you are
using a 1/8” or larger steering arm, you will need to adapt it
down to 3/32”. The easiest way to do this is to cut a small
piece of 1/8” brass tube and silver solder it into the hole in
the wheel collar on the steering arm. Once it is soldered in
place, use a rotary tool to cut it the same size as the wheel
collar.
