Fault 36: Sterilization PU
FAULT 36: Sterilization PU
Triggered by:
The calculated temperature required to produce saturated steam on the basis of the measured pressure is below
the minimum temperatures T1 to T5
Causes / Remedy

Pressure drop during the sterilisation phase

Leaks
Ventilation or Pressure release solenoid valves, spring-operated safety valve

"Overheating protection - steam generator" trips
The capillary control unit "Overheating protection - steam generator" interrupts the heating power during
the sterilization phase

Capillary tube level controller (digital input DIN 2) faulty
Controller does not open in the event of overheating (Water shortage), water shortage is therefore
not recognised and the capillary tube controller for overheating protection switches off.

Pressure sensor signal fluctuates
Check on the basis of the print-out records:
Print-out shows fluctuating pressure values, dipping below P 6 – P10
In the print-out, the values from the temperature sensor "Temp_chambr_elec " (AIN1) and from
temperature sensor "Temp_Chambr_Dis1/2" (AIN2) correspond.

signal voltage at 1 bar = 2.5 V DC, max. 10 V DC at 4bar

"Poor control behaviour of steam generator"
Poor heat transfer from the heating coil of the steam generator, in particular during the fluctuation on transition
from heating up to the sterilization phase it is possible that the temperature falls below the theoretical
temperature required for sterilization for short periods.
Increase settings for P6-P10, Z24 and Z25,
