6. Install the air intake hose (A, Figure 30) on the air
cleaner, and secure with the original clamp.
7. Connect the positive battery cable (B) and the sole-
noid control wire to the starter solenoid.
8. Connect the engine electrical harness to the main
harness connector (C), the PTO clutch connector (D),
both harness connectors (F) and connect the wires to
the left ignition coil (E).
9. Remove the fuel line (D, Figure 31) on the left side of
the engine, and plug the line to prevent spillage of
fuel.
10. Connect the negative battery cable (C) to the front
engine cover.
11. Connect the positive battery cable (B) to the battery.
Connect the negative battery cable (A) to the battery.

12. Install the muffler (F) to the engine using the original
hardware. Install the muffler heat shield (E) to the
muffler using the original hardware.
13. Connect the wires to the right ignition coil (G).
14. Install the upper shield (I) to the left and right (J) side
shields, and secure using the original hardware (H).
15. Replace the engine oil and filter (refer to Section 3,
MAINTENANCE).
16. Check the level or fill the radiator and engine with
antifreeze (Refer to Section 3, "Maintenance").
17. Provide any additional services as listed in the
Regular Maintenance Schedule for the tractor (refer
to Section 3, MAINTENANCE).
18. Adjust the engine throttle for proper operation. (Refer
to your Kawasaki Engine Operator Manual or contact
your Kawasaki Engine Distributor for specific informa-
tion on the adjustment of the Kawasaki Liquid Cooled
V-Twin 20 HP Models.)
19. Install the hood (refer to Section 14, HOOD, DASH &
FOOT REST SERVICE).

DO NOT perform the next step in the presence of
open flames, sparks, or smoking materials.
Gasoline is highly flammable, and could result in
explosion or fire causing death or serious injury.
