General checks on NK8237
The power supply, vital functions, and diagnostic state of NK8237 can be checked
on the front panel.
For more advanced diagnostics, see
Maintenance and diagnostics [➙
Checking the IEC connection
A complete check can be done from the IEC host.
You can also run a complete check of NK8237 IEC GW functions before
connecting the IEC unit by using an IEC protocol test tool.
Checking the fire system
If the IEC communication works, detailed information is provided for each fire
control unit. A complete check of the fire detection points is required before
handing over the system.
For a complete documentation of the fire point mapping, see the
NK8237 IEC
60870-5-104 GW Interface Specifications
(document no. A6V10741020).
WARNING
Please be aware of the potential consequence of a configuration mismatch
between the fire system and the IEC master station that deals with the safety
alarm presentation and treatment. Such a mismatch can actually result in a fire
alarm being missed.
Whenever a configuration change occurs in the fire system and/or in the NK8237
gateway, make sure to import and set up thoroughly and consistently the
corresponding configuration in the IEC head-end system.
Note that any configuration inconsistencies between the fire system and the
NK8237 is detected and reported in the IEC map (refer to the
NK8237 Points
documented in the
NK8237 IEC 60870-5-104 GW Interface Specifications
(document no. A6V10741020).
