2.6 Riding response
The
momo motion.
has a different riding response compared to conventional
bicycles and tricycles without electric assistance. We therefore recom-
mend initially becoming familiar with the
momo motion.
off public roads
without assistance from the electric drive. When using the electric drive,
please start with the lowest assistance level to gain confidence in using
the tricycle.
Consider the following aspects when riding:
• Before starting to ride, check the functionality of the brakes
with a test brake.
• Always drive carefully on wet, smooth and loose ground and avoid jerky
pedaling.
• Steering is controlled exclusively with the hands, a shift of the body’s
centre of gravity (for example when taking a corner) does not affect the
steering response.
• When riding and especially when turning, you must always pay
attention to the total width of the rear wheels. This differs significantly
compared to conventional bicycles.
• During fast cornering, care should be taken to ensure that the speed is
reduced in advance, as a tricycle can also topple over.
• Never ride without hands.
• Drive with lighting in dark conditions and poor visibility to increase
visibility for other road users.
• We recommend wearing a bicycle helmet for your own safety.
• Avoid continuous operation in a salty environment as this will promote
damage from corrosion.
• Be sure to keep both hands on the handlebars when accelerating.
When using the electric drive and in conjunction with the start-up as-
sistance, the acceleration changes.
• When braking, always operate both independent brake systems. During
long downhill runs, this is essential to avoid overheating. This may lead
to malfunctions! See
Point 4.2
for further information.
For longer trips with the help of the electric drive, the motor can become very
hot. Do not touch the motor after riding under heavy strain.
