7.1
Operating Modes
7.1.1
Automatic Operation
Once the area gripper is connected to the power supply, it is ready for operation and enters
automatic mode. This is the normal operating mode, in which the gripper is operated by the system
controller.
The operating mode can be changed from automatic to
manual mode using the buttons.
The gripper is always parameterized in automatic mode.
7.1.2
Manual Mode
NOTE
Changing the output signals in manual mode
Personal injury or damage to property
Electrical connection must be performed only by a qualified specialist who can predict the effects that
signal changes will have on the entire system.
In manual mode, the “suction” and “blow off” gripper functions can be controlled independently of the higher-level
controller using the buttons on the foil keypad of the operating element. This function is used, among other things, to
detect and eliminate leaks in the vacuum circuit.
In this operating mode, the “SP1” and “SP2” LEDs both flash.
Activating Manual Mode
NOTE
External signals may change manual mode
Personal injury or damage to property due to unpredictable work steps
Ensure that the danger zone of the system is clear of people during operation.
NOTE
It is not possible to activate manual mode.
Access to manual mode is locked by the controller. This status is
indicated by the code E90 on the display.
Unlock manual mode using the controller.
The area gripper is on the measurement screen.
