• This command is only needed when multiple RTC

5 boards with differing DSP versions

are to be operated synchronously in a master/slave chain (see

page 84

), and then only

if matching of short list counts isn’t to be performed via

sync_slaves

• Even if another mode was already set via

set_dsp_mode

, the

set_dsp_mode

command

always returns the DSP mode that the board was set to during initialization. This return
value (

initial_dsp_mode

) is identical to Byte #2 of

get_rtc_version

(DSP version

number).

• No mode can be set that is larger than

initial_dsp_mode

(if necessary,

Mode

will be

clipped to

initial_dsp_mode

). Thus, faster boards can only be matched to slower

boards, not the other way around.
