66 Common Procedure And Programming Sequences

8.2 Making A Page Mode Access To VMEbus Or Dual Port RAM

Make sure the adapter has been initialized. See section 8.1.

If accessing the VMEbus and the Remote Address Modifier Register is
being used, write the Remote Address Modifier Register with the correct
address modifier for the target VMEbus device. Skip this step if the
access is to Dual Port RAM.

Set bit 3 (the

Use Address Page Register

bit) in Remote Command

Write Remote Command Register 2 with the correct page size.

Write the page address in the Remote Page Registers. The registers may
be accessed as a word or as separate bytes.

Make the read or write access to the appropriate window.

8.3 Making A Direct Mode Access To VMEbus Or Dual Port RAM

Make sure the

jumpers on the VMEbus adapter card have been set

properly. See section 4.11.
