before the room heating starts – provided water heating is required according to
the switching programme. The optimisation function always affects the change
between reduced mode and normal mode, or the change between off and normal
modes. No optimisation takes place when changing between off and reduced
modes.
The controller requires several warm-up operations (i.e. normally a few days)
before determining the building‘s characteristic. Only then has a practically
optimum temperature profi le been attained. This could be impaired by outside
infl uences (open windows, heat sources.). If the optimisation function has
been deactivated (SP50 = 0) and a room sensor has been parameterised and
connected, when the change from normal to reduced mode occurs the heating
is also switched off to begin with if the room temperature is at least 2.5 K
higher than the reduced mode setpoint. Heating operation in accordance with
the heating characteristic does not continue until the room temperature has
dropped to the same value as the setpoint. If the room temperature subsequently
increases to more than 2.5 K above the setpoint due to external heat sources, the
heating will be shut off again.
Screed curing for heating 1
The EQJW245 has two fl oor-drying functions:
Functional heating in accordance with EN 1264 Part 4. This describes how •
cement fl oors must be treated before fl oor coverings are laid. Firstly, a fl ow
temperature of 25°C must be maintained over 3 days for this purpose. After
this, the maximum fl ow temperature should be maintained for 4 more days (i.e.
a total of 7 days = 7 d). The controller then works in normal heating mode in
accordance with the settings chosen.
2. Ready-for-laying heating. This involves starting with a fl ow temperature •
setpoint of 25°C. The fl ow temperature setpoint is gradually increased by 5K a
day until the maximum fl ow temperature has been attained. The maximum fl ow
temperature is then maintained for 7 days, after which the fl ow temperature
setpoint is gradually reduced by 5K every day until a temperature of 25°C has
been reached. The function is then fi nished and control is again carried out in
normal heating mode in accordance with the chosen settings.
Both of these functions can be called up with the aid of SERVice parameter
SP60. To perform screed curing in accordance with EN 1264 Part 4, a value of
“7d” must be assigned to the parameter. To perform ready-for-laying heating, the
parameter should have a value of “25°C” assigned to it.
The EQJW245 should be adapted to the installation before screed curing is
enabled. Parameter SP19 (maximum limit of T

fi rst be set to an appropriate value for the fl oor and the heating circuit.
When the screed curing function is active, the fl ashing ‚house‘ symbol is
displayed. An additional value appears in the display. If functional heating is
activated, the remaining time is shown, e.g. 7d = 7 days (at the start), counting
down to 1d = 1 day. If ready-for-laying heating is activated, the current phase
