Cranium-related mounted models in the articulator are an essential part of diagnosis and therapy.
The correct position of the maxillary model to the reference plane is an absolute prerequisite for model mounting
with a centric registration, but also for setting condylar pathways and even when using mean values.
The Frankfort Horizontal (FH) Plane represents a reference plane for the patient and the articulator. The reference
points of the Frankfort horizontal (Porion and orbitale) are identical to the axis-orbital plane (AOE).
