2-7-4. Tachometer reading is abnormal

Check point

Check/Cause

Action

1. Combination Meter

(1) When starter switch is ON, measure voltage between

combination meter terminal wires and ground terminal

wire.

Terminal wire R (battery terminal)

and terminal wire B (ground terminal)

Terminal wire P (starter switch terminal)

and terminal wire B (ground terminal)

Standard voltage: 12 V or more

(2) Check that combination meter terminal RB, GB and OG

wires (Engine speed 1 to 3) are grounded.

(3) Start engine and measure pulse between combination

meter terminal O wire (TA pulse terminal) and chassis

ground.

Standard pulse: 127 pulses/rotation of engine

If above items (1) and (2) are OK and item (3) is NG,

combination meter is faulty.

•

Replace combination

meter.

2. Harness Connecting

Between Terminals

Measure resistance of harness connecting between

terminals.

Standard resistance: 10 Ω or less

If resistance is abnormal, harness is faulty.

•

Repair or replace

harness.
