the interior temperature does not reach the value set
by the driver.
• Low battery power or battery temperature not within
the desired range.
• Insufficient brake vacuum.
• Starter overheating.
• It is in reverse gear upon parking, or in reverse gear
before parking.
• In high altitude zones.
• On ramps.
Automatic Engine Start
After the vehicle is stopped, the engine will start
automatically when the following operations of driver are
detected, and at this time the stop/start fuel saving system
indicator on the instrument is off (1 in figure):
• In D position, release the brake pedal, or in
P/Nposition, depress the brake/accelerator pedal, or
shift to Drive gear (R/D/S/W/Tiptronic).
Note: In individual cases, the MIL will illuminate on
the instrument during the automatic engine start.
This is caused by voltage reduction during starting, not
indicating the actual failure. If the MIL stays on after
the completion of engine starting, please contact MG
Authorised Repairer.
If it is needed by the vehicle status, the engine will be
started automatically even if the driver does not have any
operation after automatic stop:
• The defrosting function of the front windshield is
enabled.
• Air conditioner is enabled, and it judges that the inside
temperature does not meet the driver's requirement.
• Low battery.
• The vehicle speed exceeds its limits, such as vehicle
coasting.
• Insufficient brake vacuum.
• Stop/Start intelligent fuel saving system master switch
(2 in figure) is pressed.
When one of the following conditions occurs after
automatic engine stop, you can only start the engine with
the key, and at this time, the stop/start fuel saving system
indicator on the instrument goes out (1 in figure), and
then the instrument prompts "Starting with key":
• The driver side seat belt is unbuckled.
• The driver side door is open.
