Automatic Shutdown of Engine
Although the engine is in stationary after
automatic stop, the vehicle is still in
operation, and the following actions could
be dangerous:
1 The driver leaves the vehicle, but the
seat belt is still buckled, or there is
a substitute inserted in the seat belt
buckle.
2 Vehicles with automatic transmission:
The driver leaves the vehicle, and
the gear is still in Drive position
(R/D/S/W/Tiptronic).
3 The body stretches into the engine
compartment.
4 Refuel the vehicle. (You must remove the
key during refueling even if the engine
has been shut down.)
With the Stop/Start intelligent fuel saving system enabled,
after the vehicle is stopped, the engine will be automatically
shut down when the following operations of driver and the
vehicle status are detected, and at this time, the stop/start
fuel saving system indicator on the instrument is on (1 in
figure) :
• In D position, brake pedal is depressed, after automatic
stop, shift to P/N gear, release the brake pedal, and the
automatic stop status still remains.
• The vehicle speed signal of the instrument is normal,
and the maximum speed before parking is greater than
10km/h.
• There is no large steering operation when the vehicle
speed is less than 10km/h.
• Close the engine hood and the driver door, and wear
the driver seat belt.
When the following conditions occur, Stop/Start intelligent
fuel saving system will be disabled and the engine will not
stop automatically:
• The engine does not reach the desired operating
temperature (four grids and above).
• Defrosting function of windshield is enabled.
• Models with electric air conditioners: Air volume
is greater than 4 gear; models with automatic air
conditioners: In non-AUTO mode, air volume of the
air conditioner is greater than 4 gear or equal to 4
gear, in AUTO mode, the air conditioner judges that
