Use and operation limits
When carrying out the installation the following limits of use must be met:
- environment protected from bad weather by air at a temperature ranging from
-10°C
to
+50°C
(in case of different temperatures please
apply to our Engineering Office).
- by thermal carrier fluids and by water humidification systems and also in presence of drain-traps close to the drains, the minimum ambient
temperature is
+5°C
.
- in order to make the outside installation suitable, particular accessories must be foreseen, such as: protection roofs, technical premises,
rain gratings, bird nets, wind covers on air intakes, etc.
For the unit operation, the following limits must be met:
- front speed for air passage through the inside components without making use of drop traps =
2.6 m/s
.
- maximum differential pressure in static plate heat regenerators =
800 Pa
- absorption of electric motors = lower than the rated value.
- voltage drop on the power supply line to motors = not higher than
3%
the rated value.
- by means of the appropriate increases, correct the power of the installed motors if, during their operation, they are subject to air at a
temperature higher than
+40°C
.
As the components are selected and dimensioned on specific request, for their limits of use refer to the specification data sheets of the
relevant manufacturers.
Residual risk
A
"residual risk"
is a potential danger that is not evident or that cannot be ascribed totally to the
UTA design or protections.
Some of the main and most frequent operations that can cause risk situations are pointed out
below; for each of them the precautionary measures to be taken and met are described too.
All the UTAs are provided with warning/danger labels and pictograms of easy understanding.
The UTAs can be considered to be
"safe machines"
if their signaling devices are kept unchanged
and their protections are kept in working order.
During installation, tests, use and maintenance, the following general safety rules must be complied
with:
IT IS FORBIDDEN:
-
to power
the UTA equipment if they and the whole structure of the UTA are not connected
appropriately to the grounding system.
-
to start the fan
if its mouth is not protected by a rugged safety net or coupled, at least up to the
first 90° bend, to a sheet duct having appropriate thickness, able to stop the accidental
detachment of an impeller blade that otherwise could be thrown outwards.
After the first bend, use can be made of air ducts with smaller thickness or made of different
materials such as polystyrene, foam polyurethane, canvas, etc.
-
to open or to try to open
the inspection doors when the fan is working.
-
to start the fans
when the inspection doors are open. Always make sure of the integrity of seals
and the efficiency of the closing devices.
-
to expose to UVA rays
the sections equipped with germicidal lamps. It is compulsory to make
use of goggles with adiactinic glass, for the direct exposure to the ultraviolet rays can damage
your sight seriously.
-
to use the horizontal plane of the UTA
as support for other equipment or as passageway.
Framing and panels are designed only in order to limit the air flow and its temperature, not to bear
excessive thrusts or external weights.
