9.4 | Input/Output Routing: The Global Routing Settings

After selecting the 

Input/Output Routing

 tab, the 

Global Routing Settings

 menu page is shown. 

NOTE -

 When the 

use local Routing Settings

 

checkbox is selected, the 

local

 routing settings stored for 

the loaded preset are used instead. Details about setting up 
the local routing for the selected preset are described in 

edit 

Selected Presets

 chapters. Because the 

local Routing 

Settings

 are similar to the 

Global Routing Settings

, the fol-

lowing descriptions can also be applied to the 

local

 settings.

NOTE -

 All settings made on this menu page or the 

sub menu pages entered from here are 

Global Routing Set-

tings

. This means they are only active when the 

use local 

Routing Settings

 checkbox in the loaded preset (displayed on 

the 

general Preset Settings

 page after pressing 

edit selec-

ted Preset

) is NOT selected. 

Among many other options, the 

Global Routing Settings

 menu page is used to set the channel formats used by the unit as 

well as the input/output routing of the monitor controller and the input routing of the metering. The settings configured here are 
used to allocate the physical inputs and outputs to the internal logical channels L, R, and so on. 

• 

Selected Format

In this line, the channel format (e. g. 

5.1

 or 

2 channel 

stereo

) used by the unit is displayed. The format shown 

depends on the routing setup currently used so it can vary 
in accordance to the loaded preset and the global routing 
parameters. 

NOTE -

 This field cannot be edited by the user 

directly. To change the selected format, please use the 

Input Routing

 button on the same menu page to set the 

channel format.

Input Routing

This button accesses a sub menu with the designated 
menu tabs 

Key 1

 to 

Key 7

. These tabs are used to define 

comprehensive input routing settings of the seven Sub 
Presets. A detailed description follows in on the next page.

Digital Output Routing 

The Digital Output Routing button accesses the 

Global 

Output Routing

 menu page. It is used to assign various 

internal signals to the digital outputs 1a, 1b, ..., 4a, 4b of 
the physical 

Digital In/Out

 connector. A detailed descrip-

tion follows in the corresponding chapter further below.

Close

This button is only available with the 

local Routing Set-

tings

 menu. It closes the routing menu and prompts you 

to save the preset to one of the User Presets.
