8.2.2.2 | Functions of the ITU BS.1771, EBU R128, ATSC A/85, ARIB or Custom Loudness Meter
The functions of the Program Meter instrument in one of the Loudness modes can be selected by clicking the numbered but-
tons in the Toolbar or by pressing the corresponding keys.
• Info/Chart/Numeric
(Button/key 6)
Repeatedly pressing this button/key toggles between the
display options for the Status Box in window 4:
• Info: The Status Box shows informations on the
selected preset, the selected input, the
selected weighting filter, the current SPL
value, and other relevant information.
• Chart: The Status Box shows a dynamic time
section of the chart recorder displaying
the loudness values of the momentary
(M – white line) and short term (S – green
line) reading.
• Numeric: The Status Box shows the numeric loud -
ness values of the short term (S) and the
integrated (I) measurements. If these valu-
es exceed the selected alarm thresholds,
they are displayed in red.
• PHold Reset
(Button/key 7)
With
Peak Hold being activated on the Channel Group
or
Sum Group
menu pages, this function erases the
Peak Hold memory for the Loudness bargraphs and for
the PPM bargraphs (if active).
• Memory
(Button/Key 1)
Pressing and holding this button/key activates the display
of the longterm memory for maximum loudness level.
• Start
(Button/key 2)
With this function, a new cycle of Integrated (I) loudness
measurement is started.
• Stop
(Button/key 3)
This function stops the measurement of the Integrated (I)
loudness bargraph and holds the last value.
• Reset
(Button/key 4)
This function resets the display of the Integrated (I) loud-
ness measurement.
• Input Select
(Button/key 5)
This function is used to select the input source. Selecting
this function displays a function layer with seven Sub
Presets. These Sub Presets offer the input sources for the
selected preset as listed in the
Preset list chapter. The
input source is displayed under the Sub Preset name of
the selected preset. The name of the selected Sub Preset
representing the channel assignment is displayed in the
upper left corner of the Toolbar (window 1).
