The Runlock is deactivated by any of the following events:
The handbrake is disengaged.
If the handbrake is disengaged while the Runlock is active, the Runlock
will be deactivated.
The Runlock reset is triggered.
If the Runlock Reset input is asserted while the Runlock is active, the
Runlock will be deactivated. Runlock Reset can be found on pin 5 of the
Special Function Inputs
connector,
and is active high. This signal is typically connected to the brake light circuit \ footbrake switch.
The Runlock reset timer.
The Runlock timeout can be used to reset the Runlock function after a set
amount of time. To set the timer, navigate to Setup Menu | General Options| Runlock Timer and set the
number of minutes required. To disable this function set the value to zero.
Runlock Outputs:
Runlock Monitor.
The Runlock output is always reflected on the Runlock Monitor. The Runlock monitor
can be found on Pin 19 of the
Monitor Outputs
connector. This pin is active high (12V) when the Runlock
function is active. The monitor pin is typically used to control a dash mounted indicator, but may be used as
a signal to a data-logger, or to control an external relay.
•
High Current Outputs.
Any of the High Current Outputs can be configured to respond to the Runlock
Function. Typically Channel ‘
C
’ is used for the Runlock output. This output has two additional 3Amp diode
outputs which can be used for isolating ignition circuits from one another. Channel ‘
C
’ is found on Pin10 of
the
High Current Outputs Bank B
connector. The additional diode outputs from Pin 10 can be found on Pins
13
and
15
of the
High Current Outputs Bank B
connector.
To configure an output for use with the Runlock navigate to Setup Menu |Channel Options Select the channel
you would like to use, and edit the MODE setting to show ‘Runlock’.
NOTE: Any channel can be used for Runlock outputs, and channel C can be used as any other type of output,
however using channel C and its associated diodes for Runlock outputs is the recommended configuration.
3.3)
Splitter Charger System
.
The Splitter Charger system is designed to control a high current relay, linking the secondary
power battery to the primary vehicle battery. When the primary battery voltage falls below a set
voltage, the external high current relay disconnects the secondary battery from the primary battery,
thus preventing the primary battery from over-discharge. Once the Primary battery is recharging,
its voltage will rise above a second set value and the Splitter Charger output will be enabled.
To set the splitter charger settings, navigate to Setup Menu | General Options | Splitter Charger On and Setup Menu |
General Options | Splitter Charger Off
The CVS012 monitors the primary battery voltage using Pin 15 of the
Special Functions Inputs
connector. Connect
this pin directly to the main power bus in the vehicle, or directly to the primary battery positive connection.
The output for the Splitter Charger function is found on Pin 17 of the
Output Monitors
Connector.
See Appendix C for a sample diagram showing the split charge wiring.
3.4)
High Current Outputs
.
There are 16 positive switching outputs. Each output can source 20Amps individually. The first 8
channels are banked collectively as Group A, and the second 8 channels are banked collectively as
Group B. Group A and Group B can both source a maximum of 40 Amps each. Each channel can
be programmed with individual over-current and under voltage protection.
3.5)
Monitor Outputs
.
16 low current pins are provided for connection to a data logger. These pins are directly connected
to the outputs. In addition, three extra data outputs are provided: Siren data, Runlock Data and Split
Charge.
