Universal Multi-Way Handsets
Mini Handset (MCS-T8), Midi Handset (MCS-T10) and Universal Handset Plus (MCS-T17)
An extremely versatile range of fully programmable handsets with user defined legends to suit a variety of applications.
There are three types of Multi-Way switch units compatible with the Universal Controller (CVS-012). They have 7, 9 or 16 individual buttons
including a built-in microphone and optional push to talk (PTT) if required.
Each button can be independently configured in terms of operation, legend designation and even back light colour, therefore they are the
ideal interface for controlling a variety of vehicle based hazard warning systems as well as the Universal Controller (CVS-102).
Handsets are mounted on the vehicle dash via a traditional handset clip however the Midi Handset (MCS-T10) can also be set into the vehicle
interior with the use of an optional quick fit rubber shroud, this option would require an additional hand held microphone with PTT switch.
Each button can operate independently or in conjunction with other buttons, as well as having unique legends, therefore each device would
need to be uniquely configured.
Configuration specification sheets which allow you to define the solution required are on the next two pages of this document. Once
programmed customers can then implement further audio and visual applications via the CVS-012 control system.

• Each switch can have a multi-function ‘HOT’ key action depending on required function
• Mini and Midi handsets have a built-in microphone where button 2 is dedicated to act as optional PTT (Push To Talk) when used in
conjunction with Public Address (PA) equipment. While the Handset Plus has a built-in grab switch for PTT.
• Button 5 on the Mini handset, button 7 on the Midi Handset and buttons 10, 11 and 12 on the Handset Plus can be allocated for Run Lock
• The large button at the bottom of Mini and Midi handsets can activate Combo 1 or cycle Combo 1 and Combo 2
• Flush mount version ot the Midi Handset (MCS-T10) would require a separate microphone with PTT switch
• Interactive buttons for interactive lighting functions and audio warnings - one button turns others on or off
• 3 stage back illumination - low brightness when OFF, high brightness when ON and both levels dimmed at night
• Back light colour can be set to suit switch function
• A fully tactile, one piece wipe clean keypad with ‘positive clicks’ provides positive feedback
