Zooming the Smith chart
To take a better look at the results, you can zoom and enlarge a particular part of the
Smitch chart.
The R&S FSH provides a 2x, 4x and
8x zoom.
M Press the TRACE key.
M Press the "Zoom" softkey.
The R&S FSH opens a submenu
to control the zoom function. It
also draws a rectangle on the
display that corresponds to the
parts of the display about to be
zoomed in.
The size of the rectangle depends on the zoom factor.
M Press the "Zoom Factor" softkey.
M Select the menu item with the
zoom factor you want.
The R&S FSH adjusts the size of
the rectangle.
By default, the position of the rectangle
is the area in the center of the display.
You can also change the position of
the rectangle.
The magnitude of the shift is a percentage and ranges from -50 % to +50 % for both
vertical and horizontal directions. The zero point (0 %) in vertical and horizontal
direction is the center of the Smith diagram.
M Press the "Move X" softkey.
The R&S FSH opens an input field.
M Enter a value between -50 % and 50 % to shift the window horizontally.
Entering negative values moves the rectangle to the left, positive values move it to
the right.
M Press the "Move Y" softkey.
The R&S FSH opens an input field.
M Enter a value between -50 % and 50 % to shift the window vertically.
Entering negative values moves the rectangle up, positive values move it down.
