5.9.3 Check the Firmware Version

This item shows the version number of the firmware on both the sonar processor
and the transceiver unit. These numbers are necessary when contacting RESON
for support.

NOTE

To ensure compatibility of the units, the sonar processor checks the version of
the transceiver unit at power-on. If necessary, the sonar processor will upload
the proper code to the transceiver unit.

5.9.4 Check the Communications Status

This item shows the status of the system communication functions.



Uplink:

Indicates the status of the uplink from the transceiver unit to the

sonar processor.

The indication will be either “Good” or “Bad”.



Downlink:

Indicates the status of the downlink from the sonar processor

to the transceiver unit.

The indication will be either “Good” or “Bad”.



Internal:

Indicates the status of the sonar processor internal self-test.

The indication will be either “Good” or “Bad”.



Ethernet:

This is the Ethernet hardware address of the processor board

within the sonar processor. The last six digits are the serial number of
the board.



Local*:

This is the user-defined IP address of the sonar processor for

Ethernet communication.



Remote*:

This is the user-defined IP address of the target computer for

Ethernet communication.



Gateway*:

This is the user-defined gateway IP address for Ethernet

communication. (Default is 0.0.0.0.)

This is required when the remote

and local addresses are on different subnets.



Subnet*:

This is the user-

defined local network‟s subnet mask, to be

used for network communications.

*

This may be changed by clicking on the numbers of the IP address to

increment up or down.

NOTE

If the status of the Up

link or Downlink is “Bad,” the system will be inoperable.

Immediate steps need to be taken if a problem appears.
