4.6.2.1.10.1  General Questions 

STARTING CONFIGURATION

 – Select to start with the current (

CUR

) configuration or the factory (

FAC

) defaults.  If 

you choose the current configuration the settings of Buzzer Disable, Daylight Savings, Log Field Changes, Log Local Flash, 
Log CVM Flash, Disable Local Flash, Type 16 Only, and 12 Volt DC Monitoring will not be changed.  If you choose the 
factory defaults the settings of Buzzer Disable and Daylight Savings will not be changed. 

ANY  LED  SIGNAL  HEADS

  –  If  any  LED  signals  are  used  at  the  intersection  select 

YES

.    If  all  indications  are 

incandescent select 

NO

PED CHANNELS

 – Select which channels are the pedestrian channels.  The choices are: 

TS1

 – The Walk indication is in 

the same channel as the vehicle throughs (Type 12 operation) and the Don’t Walks are not monitored.  

9-12

 – The pedestrian 

indications are connected to channels 9 through 12.  

13-16

 – The pedestrian indications are connected to channels 13 through 

16. 

PED CH REDS TIED HIGH

 – If TS1 is selected for PED CHANNELS this item will show

 N/A

 and cannot be selected.  

Otherwise,  select  whether  the  pedestrian  channel  Red  (Don’t  Walk)  inputs  are  tied  to  AC+  in  the  cabinet  or  to  the  actual 
pedestrian channel Reds.  The choices are: 

YES

 – The Red input is tied to AC+ and the Don’t Walks are not monitored.  

NO

 

– The Red (Don’t Walk) inputs are connected to the Don’t Walk indications. 

USE EXTERNAL WATCHDOG

 – If the cabinet will use the external watchdog feature select 

YES

 otherwise select 

NO

4.6.2.1.10.2  Channel Assignments 

For  each  of  the  channels  of  the  monitor,  select  the  function  that  each  channel  will  be  used  for.    If  in  Type  12  mode  of 
operation, only the first 12 channels can be configured. 

T

 

Through vehicle movement (with ped if TS1 was selected for Ped Channels) 

L

 

Left turn movement.  If protected/permissive, use this for the protected displays. 

P

 

Pedestrian movement.  Walks and Don’t Walks are monitored. 

O

 

Overlap or Other.  Used channels not covered by the above three options. 

 

Unused. 

4.6.2.1.10.3  Left Turn Configurations 

LEFT TURN TYPE

 – Select the type of left turn.  You will get this screen for every channel identified as a left turn on the 

Channel Assignments screen.  The options are: 

PROT 

This left turn is a standard protected left turn movement.  This is the default left turn type. 

PPLT5 

This left turn uses a five section head with a Green arrow, Yellow arrow, Green ball, Yellow ball, and a Red 
ball.  If this type is selected, other setting will be displayed. 

 

BALL SUPPRESSION

 – If the ball displays will be dark while one of the arrows is on, select 

YES

.  If one of 

the balls is always on, select 

NO

.  The default for this setting is 

NO

 

BALL CHANNEL

 – If 

YES

 is selected for Ball Suppression this setting will be displayed.  Since the balls will 

be dark at times, they will be connected to an overlap and not a vehicle through channel.  The wizard needs to 
know which channel will be monitoring the ball displays of this five section head. 

FYA

 

This  left  turn  uses  a  four  section  head  with  a  Green  arrow,  Flashing  Yellow  arrow,  Yellow  arrow,  and  Red 
arrow.  If this type is selected, other setting will be displayed. 

 

OPPOSING  THRU  CHAN

 – The wizard needs to know  what channel  monitors the through  movement that 

opposes this left turn movement.  The wizard will default to the next higher channel as the opposing through. 

 

CONCURRENT YELLOW

 – If the Yellow arrow for terminating the Flashing Yellow arrow is allowed to be 

on at the same time as the Yellow ball for the opposing through movement, select 

YES

.  If the Yellow arrow 

and the Yellow ball will never be on at the same time, select 

NO

.  This will be the same for all Flashing Yellow 

arrow left turns. 

 

CHANNEL WITH FYA

 – The wizard needs to know  which channel  will be monitoring the Flashing Yellow 

arrow display. 

 

COLOR DRIVER FOR FYA

 – If the Green of the Channel with FYA will be the color driving the Flashing 

Yellow  arrow  display,  select 

GRN

.    If  the  Yellow  of  the  Channel  with  FYA  will  be  the  color  driving  the 

Flashing Yellow arrow display, select 

YEL

.  This will be the same for all Flashing Yellow arrow drivers.
