Speed Control Adjustment Ranges

NOTE

: Full rotation of potentiometers may exceed the range specified.

Maximum speed: 50 to 100% of motor base speed with speed

setting pot at its maximum setting

D

Minimum speed: 10 to 50% of maximum speed with speed setting

pot at its minimum setting. With zero speed jumper, minimum speed

range is 0 to 50% of maximum speed.

D

Current limit: adjustable to 150% of selected current range

D

IR drop compensation: 5% to 10% at rated armature voltage

D

Speed regulation characteristics: refer to Table 26.

D

Ramp time to maximum speed: 0.5 to 30 sec.

D

Enhanced ramp time to maximum speed (05721031 and 32

Regulator Boards only): 

- J401, slow" adjustable from 3.5 seconds to 40 seconds 

- J401, fast" adjustable from .3 seconds to 3.5 seconds

D

Dynamic braking provided in Models DC271, 78, 91 and 98 only.

This capability is designed for applications requiring infrequent

stops of loads in which the inertia reflected to the motor is

approximately equivalent to or less than the motor armature inertia.

Refer to Table 27.

CAUTION:

 Do not use dynamic braking on applications with reflected inertias

higher than motor armature inertia or when frequent stops are necessary. Failure to

observe this precaution could result in damage to, or destruction of, the equipment.

- P.I. Gain .5 to 2.5

- P.I. 25% of full reference

Torque Control Adjustment Ranges

Maximum torque: 75 to 150% of rated motor torque with torque

potentiometer at its maximum setting

potentiometer at its minimum setting
