b) Commissioning
The manual for the remote control system is included separately. Always observe all safety information
included in it as well as any other information!
• Only use suitable batteries/rechargeable batteries for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller with a mains
adapter, not even for test purposes.
The vehicle must only be operated with 4 batteries or 4 NiMH batteries type AA/Mignon.
Due to the high power consumption of the vehicle and for cost reasons we recommend that you only use
rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you want to use conventional batteries in the vehicle nevertheless, only
use high-quality, fully charged alkaline batteries.
In case of excessive power withdrawal, the batteries will otherwise only deliver a relatively low output
voltage that may cause deactivation of the speed controller/receiver.
• Always switch on the receiver first when taking the vehicle into operation. Only then must the vehicle’s power supply
be connected with the speed controller and the speed controller switched on. Otherwise, the vehicle may show
unpredictable responses!
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface before connecting the power supply, so that the wheels can
turn freely.
Check the position of the on/off switch of the speed controller and place it in the “OFF” position (switched
off).
Switch on the transmitter if you haven’t done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter). Exchange the batteries/rechargeable batteries when they become low.
Put the trimming for the throttle/brake function at the transmitter into the centre position.
Now either place 4 batteries or 4 rechargeable batteries type AA/mignon in the vehicle.
Hold the vehicle, but do not reach into the drive unit. There is a risk of serious injury! Never hold the vehicle
by its wheels!
Now switch on the speed controller.
• Check that the vehicle reacts to remote control commands as expected (steering and drive) before taking it from the
support and placing it on the ground with its wheels.
Set the trimming for throttle/brake lever at the transmitter so that the engine no longer turns when the
throttle/brake lever is released (neutral position).
Set the transmitter trim for steering so that the front wheels are about straight. The exact setting for straight
driving can be performed during a drive.
