To fence GNBD server nodes, consider the following actions when creating
fence.ccs
and
nodes.ccs
files:
• fence.ccs
— Define fencing devices as follows:
•
For fencing GFS nodes using GNBD multipath, a GNBD fencing device must include an
option = multipath
parameter (in
fence.ccs:fence_devices/ DeviceName
of the
fencing device).
•
Define a fencing device for fencing GNBD node servers.
•
Define a notification fencing device (using the
fence_notify_gnbd
fencing agent) for notify-
ing GFS nodes that a GNBD server node has been fenced.
Warning
Do not specify the GNBD fencing agent (
fence_gnbd
) as a fencing device for the GNBD server
nodes.
• nodes.ccs
— Each GNBD node needs to be defined with a fencing method that includes the
notification fencing device (the fencing device using the
fence_notify_gnbd
fencing agent) to
indicate to the GFS nodes that a GNBD device is not available if it is fenced.

6.5. Adding the
license.ccs
File
Adding the
license.ccs
file consists of obtaining the license file, renaming the file, and saving it.
To add the license file, follow these steps:
1. Obtain the GFS license file,
gfs_license.txt
. Example 6-1 shows a license file.
2. Rename the file to
license.ccs
and save it into the temporary directory.
Caution
Do not edit the
license.ccs
file; doing so invalidates it.
