12.4. License FAQ

I want to upgrade my license, but I have removed all my CCS files. How do I upgrade my license?

It is possible to retrieve the CCS files from a previously written archive using the

ccs_tool extract

command. Once the files have been extracted and placed into a local directory, replace the old license

file with the new one and recreate the archive using the

ccs_tool create

command.

My license file is no longer valid. How do I obtain a copy of my license?

Contact Red Hat Support for a new license.

I have misplaced my license. How do I obtain a new one?

Contact an authorized sales representative for a new license.

My license file is no longer valid. How do I retrieve the data on my file system?

GFS will drop into read-only mode, so you should still be able to retrieve all data on the file system.

If the file system is currently unmounted, do the following:

modprobe lock_nolock

mount -t gfs

BlockDevice MountPoint

-o lockproto=lock_nolock

This allows one node, and only one node, access to the file system for data retrieval.

Caution

Mounting a file system with LOCK_NOLOCK on one node and mounting the file system on any other

node at the same time can cause corruption.
