The 

WRITE ATTRIBUTE

 command allows an application client to write 

attributes to Enhanced Medium Auxiliary Memory (EMAM). The 

WRITE 

ATTRIBUTE

 command is the functional counterpart of the 

READ 

ATTRIBUTE 

command. Application clients issue 

READ ATTRIBUTE

 

commands before using this command to discover DLT-S4 tape drive 

support for EMAM features.
