Troubleshooting

Symptoms

Causes and Comments

Communication failure with Portal
software (continued)

Data from the run that occurred prior to communication failure will not
be lost. It will be exported to Portal software when communication is re-
established.

If Portal sample tracking has been disabled temporarily, remember to
start Portal sample tracking again when the communication issue has
been resolved.
If there is a persistent problem exporting a given set of data to the Portal
software, the administrator can access the Portal tab on the ‘Preferences’
screen (Section 4.3, Administrator Settings) and press the

Clear Pending

Export button to discard the data currently being exported.

Instrument Connection Errors

In the event that errors in instrument communication or functions are
observed when starting a method, a full restart of the system is required.
Shut down the Maxprep™ software, and turn off the Maxprep™ Instrument.
Restart the Maxprep™ Instrument and restart the Maxprep™ PC. When
the PC has finished rebooting, Restart the Maxprep™ software.

Method: Aborted By User

User aborted method.

•

An aborted run (initiated by the user) will result in
the loss of all the samples.

•

Do not attempt to repurify samples from an
aborted run.

A previous instrument task is still active. Please try
again later.

User tried to do something while previous run was
active. Wait for the current process to complete. If
error still persists, contact your IT administrator or
Promega Technical Services.
