Daily and Weekly Maintenance
Daily Maintenance and Weekly Maintenance should be performed at their specified frequency,
and if the Administrator has chosen to enforce maintenance, the Daily and Weekly Maintenance
must be run at their specified frequency before any other methods can be run. The Daily
Maintenance method will test the pressure and conductive liquid level sensing performance of
the system. The Weekly Maintenance method will prompt the user to clean the instrument (see
Section 6.1, Weekly Cleaning) and then will test instrument calibration, pressure and conductive
liquid level sensing. Because the Weekly Maintenance method includes the functions tested in
the Daily Maintenance method, it is not necessary to run both Daily Maintenance and Weekly
Maintenance on the same day. When starting a Maintenance method, make sure to close the
door of the instrument before pressing the
Proceed button. Perform the on-screen instructions
that are provided for each method. The gantry of the instrument can be freely moved from side
to side in order to facilitate performing the on-screen instructions. Make sure that the tip eject
bar has been removed from the Waste Position and that the door of the instrument is closed.
After the maintenance method is complete, replace the tip eject bar on the Waste Position. The
pin on the waste position should fit in the small hole at the front of the tip eject bar, the large cut
out should be at the back of the instrument and the angled side of the tip eject bar should be on
the right side and facing downward toward the waste bin.
