DAISY editing mode is the mode for recording or editing a DAISY title. Before recording or
editing a DAISY title, the PLEXTALK automatically starts the DAISY editing mode.
PLEXTALK also starts this mode when you create a title or prepare to edit a DAISY title.
When you want to finish the DAISY editing mode, do the following;

Select "Exit DAISY editing mode" in the "Edit" menu.
•
Or switch media by pressing the Title key.
Note: While in the DAISY editing mode, you cannot use network functions.
12.6. Basic recording technique
This section outlines the normal steps used in the recording process. The basic steps for
recording with PLEXTALK are as follows:
•
If you use SD card or USB device, ensure that it is unlocked.
•
If you use external microphone or line-in, connect it to the PLEXTALK.
•
Press the Title key to select a media you wish to record into.
•
Press the Record key once to go into "DAISY editing mode."
•
Press the Left or Right key to select a title you wish to record into.
•
Set the recording level either manually or using the Auto Gain Control.
•
Press the Record key again to start recording.
•
Press the Record key again to pause recording at any time.
•
Press the Record key to start recording again.
•
Press the Play/Stop key to stop recording.
Note: You can pause recording as often as you need to.

12.7. Muting the guide speech when recording
For best quality recordings, it is recommended that you mute the internal guide speech
when you are recording through the built in microphone or through an external
microphone. This is to avoid the guide speech being heard in your final recording. You can
mute the guide speech in the following three ways:
