Then plug the smaller end of the long USB cable into the USB socket on the bottom 

right edge of the PLEXTALK. Then plug the wider end of the cable into a spare USB 

socket on a computer. Ensure that the computer is turned on and charging will start. 

 
CAUTION:  Never use force when connecting the USB cable as you may damage the 

cable or connector in the process. 
Note: The charging via a USB cable works during power off. 
 

2.6. Maintenance and battery care 

 

2.6.1. Unit care 

 
Carefully wipe any dust and dirt from the PLEXTALK with a soft cloth that has been 
slightly dampened with a diluted, neutral detergent, then wipe dry with a cloth. 

 
WARNING:  Always turn the power off and disconnect PLEXTALK from the AC adaptor 
before cleaning. 

 

2.6.2. Battery care 

 

In order that you get the most out of your rechargeable battery, you should take careful 
note of the following points: 
 

•

The battery will normally take 4 hours to fully charge. However, when using your 

PLEXTALK for the first time, or after one month of storage, you should connect to a 
mains power supply for at least 24 hours. 

•

If the PLEXTALK is not to be used for over a month, remove the battery and store it 

in a cool place with low humidity. 

•

The battery life depends on how frequently it is used and recharged. Its capacity to 

store charge reduces over time. When the usable time following a charge becomes 
too short for practical use, replace the battery with a new one. These can be 
purchased from your local agent. Your agent should also be able to give you advice 

about recycling and disposal of used batteries. 

•

The usable time may be affected by the ambient temperature and working 

environment. 

 
In order to maintain battery performance, the following procedure should be carried out 
every six months:
