Listening to the radio
The tune r can r eceive both FM and AM
b r oadcasts, and lets you memo r ize you r
favo r ite stations so you don’t have to manually
tune in eve r y time you want to listen.
1 Press TUNER to switch to the tuner, then
press repeatedly to select the AM or FM band.
The dis p lay shows the band and f r equency.
2 Tune to a frequency.
The r e a r e th r ee tuning modes — manual, auto,
and high-s p eed:
• Manual tuning : P r ess TUNE +/–
r e p eatedly to change the dis p layed
f r equency.
•
Auto tuning
: P r ess and hold
TUNE +/–
until the f r equency dis p lay sta r ts to move,
then r elease. The tune r will sto p on the next
station it finds. Re p eat to kee p sea r ching.
• High-speed tuning : P r ess and hold
TUNE +/– until the f r equency dis p lay sta r ts
to move r a p idly. Kee p the button held down
until you r each the f r equency you want. If
necessa r y, fine tune the f r equency using
the manual tuning method.
Improving poor FM reception
If you’ r e listening to an FM station in ste r eo but
the r ece p tion is weak, you can im pr ove the
sound quality by switching to mono.
1 Tune to an FM radio station then press
SHIFT+SETUP.
2 Use
/
to choose FM MODE then press
ENTER.
3 Use
/
to select FM MONO then press
ENTER.
The mono indicato r ( ) lights when the tune r
is in mono r ece p tion mode.
Select
FM AUTO
above to switch back to auto-
ste r eo mode (the ste r eo indicato r ( ) lights
when r eceiving a ste r eo b r oadcast).
Memorizing stations
You can save u p to 30 station pr esets so that
you always have easy access to you r favo r ite
stations without having to tune in manually
each time.
1 Tune to an AM or FM radio station.
Select mono o r auto-ste r eo r ece p tion (FM)
as necessa r y. These settings a r e saved along
with the pr eset.
2 Press SHIFT+SETUP and use
/
to
choose ‘ST.MEM.’ then press ENTER.
3 Use
/
to select the station preset you
want then press ENTER.
Listening to station presets
1 Make sure the TUNER function is
selected.
2 Use the ST +/– buttons to select a station
preset.
• You can also use the numbe r buttons to do
this.
Listening to other sources
You can connect auxilia r y sou r ces (TV, satellite
r eceive r , etc.) to this unit fo r p layback th r ough
the s p eake r system. See Connecting auxiliary
components on p age 34 fo r mo r e on this.
• To connect a USB device to the USB
te r minal, see USB playback on p age 26.
1 Make sure that the external source (TV,
satellite receiver, etc.) is switched on.
2 Press LINE to select the source.
Each pr ess switches between
LINE1
and
LINE2
.
3 If necessary, start playback of the source.
