Configuration Example with TwinCAT

®

The configuration and commissioning of the modules described below refers to the software 
TwinCAT

®

 3 from Beckhoff Automation GmbH.

The configuration is based on the example of an ICE1-16DIO-G60L-V1D module. For other 
module versions, configuration is carried out with a few minor changes.

If you have a control system from a different provider, please refer to the corresponding docu-
mentation from the provider.

Integrating the PLC

1.

Install the ESI file of the module family in TwinCat

®

. In TwinCAT

®

 3, the ESI file is normally 

inserted in the installation folder 

C:\TwinCAT\3.1\Config\Io\EtherCAT

.

 After you restart TwinCAT

®

, the modules will be available in the hardware catalog.

2.

Start TwinCat and open a new project.

3.

Select the "SYSTEM" option in "Solution Explorer" and click on the "Choose Target

”

 button.
