Configure Units
Once a Gateway or Gatekeeper unit has been created using the Unit Information Setup Wizard,
the Maintenance Console Software has created a configuration file (OFDD.VHO) for the unit.
This file must now be configured with data that will allow the unit to operate properly in the
network environment in which it is installed.
The Maintenance Console Software permits all configuration file data to be entered and edited
while off-line. Once the configuration data for one or more units has been entered into the
MCS, each unit's configuration file can be saved to a hard disk and /or uploaded to unit's using
the network interface.
*1
In the procedures discussed in this section, the completed configuration files will be uploaded
to the units using a LAN connection.
See Section 3.4 for additional information about the LAN connection.
To begin the configuration process, highlight the unit to be configured by clicking on the unit's
icon and then select
Edit data
and
Edit configuration
item from the Unit menu.
Note
•
Click the Toolbar Edit Configuration icon.

Additional methods for uploading and downloading configuration files are discussed in Appendix A7 of this document.
