Create/Edit Common Configuration

The Maintenance Console Software provides a Common Configuration facility that makes it
easier and quicker to configure parameters that are shared by all of the units in a group. The
common configuration items include; DNS, SNMP, Gatekeeper, and Notify E-mail. These
parameters can also be configured for individual units using the Unit Configuration folders
described later in this section. This may be better when adding only a few units to an existing
network.

To use the Common Configuration feature:

1.

Select a Group in the Groups Pane or from within a group, select the units to be configured
using the methods described earlier in this document.

2.

Select the Edit Common Configuration item from the Unit/Edit Data menu or from the pop-
up menu displayed by right-clicking on the selected units.

The MCS then displays the folders for the Common Configuration items.
