4-1.W Type(Wire) Link Functions
1. Communication Functions
The W Type(Wire) Link System can handle three kinds of communications between FP3 and FP5 Programmable
Controllers:
A P/W PC Link function
A Data Transfer function
A Remote Programming function
The P/W PC Link function can only be performed when the W Type(Wire) Link Unit is set for the “PC Link
Mode”.
Each W Type(Wire) Link Unit must be set to support P/W PC Link or not.
If you want to use the unit for the PC Link Mode, set the unit to the “PC Link Mode” using the Mode Selector
Switch 1(MODE SW. 1) on the front panel of the unit.
You can designate a maximum of 16 stations for communication in “PC Link Mode” in one network.
Any unit which has “PC Link Mode” enabled can perform all three functions. If the unit is set for “Not PC Link
Mode”, the unit can still perform Data Transfer and Remote Programming functions.
